We collect only the minimum data required to facilitate a match:

  • Identity Data: Full Name.
  • Contact Data: Email ID (and Phone Number upon app launch).
  • Demographic Data: Year of Birth (to verify eligibility).
  • Location Data: City and District.

2. Peer-to-Peer Verification

To ensure the safety of our community, Booond.org requires donors and recipients to verify each other’s identity using Government-issued Photo IDs during their physical meeting at a medical facility.

  • No Data Collection: Booond.org does not collect, scan, or store your Government ID (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.) on our servers.
  • Independent Verification: This verification happens offline between the two parties. We are not responsible for the accuracy or the exchange of this information during the meeting.

3. Purpose of Processing

By registering, you provide explicit consent for us to process your data to:

  • Maintain your profile in our voluntary donor database.
  • Enable blood recipients in your area to find and contact you via the in-app chat.
  • Send notifications for feedback and safety reporting 24 hours after a connection.

4. Your Rights as a Data Principal

In compliance with the DPDP Act 2023, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Access & Correction: You can review or update your profile at any time.
  • Right to Erasure: You may request the deletion of your account and data (“Right to be Forgotten”).
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: You may opt-out of the platform at any time, which will result in your removal from the donor list.
  • Right to Grievance Redressal: If you have concerns about how your data is handled, you may contact our Grievance Officer.

5. Data Sharing and Security

  • Privacy by Design: Your contact details are hidden by default. They are only revealed to the other party if you choose to share them during an active chat.
  • Zero Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell or share your personal data with any third-party marketing or insurance agencies.
  • Security: We use industry-standard encryption to protect your data from unauthorized access.
